Film: Kirikou and the Sorceress (Kirikou et la Sorcière) is a 1998 traditional animation feature film written and directed by Michel Ocelot. Drawn from elements of West African folk tales, it depicts how a newborn boy, Kirikou, saves his village from the evil witch Karaba.
It is a co-production between companies in France, Belgium and Luxembourg and animated at Rija Films’ studio in Latvia and Studio Exist in Hungary. The voices and music recorded in Senegal.The original French voice acting was performed by a cast of West African actors and schoolchildren and recorded in Dakar. The English dubbing, also directed by Ocelot, was made in South Africa. Music by Senegalese singer; Youssou N’Dour.
So I decided to make these two images to compare your typical Hamas rocket strike in Israel, to your typical Israeli missile strike in Gaza
The first is of a Hamas rocket exploding in Israel. No damage, no shockwave, tons of smoke, and that’s it. This is because Hamas rockets do not even contain a warhead, and in order to sustain any sort of damage or injury, you must basically be hit DEAD on.
The second is of an Israeli airstrike decimating a home in the Gaza strip.
The IDF claim that Hamas has launched around 800 rockets into Israel, with about 20% of them being intercepted by their Iron Dome missile defense system. They also claim that they have launched strikes on over 1000 targets in the Gaza Strip.
800 Hamas rockets - ~200 intercepted, leaves us with 600 rocket attacks on Israel, attacks carried out using mortars like those seen above.
Compare that to 1000 strikes launched by the Israeli “Defense” Forces, carried out using missiles like those seen above.
It doesn’t matter how “kind” the IDF is in warning Gazans to “flee” or to “seek shelter”, Israeli missiles will simply decimate anything and everything they come into contact with, and there is no place to hide.

Cultural Locusts or Why I don’t like Gentrification
Can someone explain why so many hipster white people see predominately POC neighborhoods with low rents, and nice places to go, & decent neighbors and decide they want to live there but without the POC? Because I don’t get it. You don’t like your neighborhoods with high rents, and too many businesses and not enough parking and crappy overpriced apartments. You get upset that your neighbors aren’t friendly, and you can’t get a sense of community like you see in our neighborhoods.
And instead of moving in to share that, you complain about the people on the stoops and the corners. You start lobbying to bring in the same businesses you left behind, you complain about the block parties, the festivals and the noise from the kids playing in the parks & the old men playing dominos or checkers or whatever (guess how you build a sense of community), and you start trying to push POC out. Only to complain that the neighborhood isn’t what it used to be & move on again to do the same thing all over again.
Then after the white flight is over, you talk about the decline of our neighborhoods and blame us for what happened in the aftermath of your destruction. Never mind the community centers you forced to close, or the cops you encouraged to harass residents. Never mind the small businesses that were destroyed, or the teachers, social workers, and other civil servants who left because they couldn’t afford the new rents or higher property taxes. Never mind the services for poor people that were pushed out by you (never to return), no, it’s all our fault that having gutting our communities, you abandoned them, & left those with the fewest resources to clean up the mess.
